About Ajmer

Ajmer is the 5th largest city of Rajasthan, India. Ajmer is surrounded by the beautiful and snowy Aravalli Mountains. It is an ancient Pilgrimage and Heritage place for both Hindus and Muslims. Ajmer is a trade center for salt, mica, cloth fabrics, and agricultural products. Ajmer was founded by Ajayadeva, an eleventh-century Rajput ruler and annexed by the Delhi Slave dynasty in 1193. Local Sightseeing

Taragarh  Fort - Taragarh Fort is located atop the alluring Nagpahari Hill in Ajmer. It is also known as the 'Fort of Ajmer'.

Archaeological Museum It is located in the Dil-e-Aaram Gardens of Ajmer and was established in 1949.

Dargah Sharif - The shrine has the grave (Maqbara) of the revered saint, Moinuddin Chisti. Many celebrities come here to visit. The Dargah is visited by Muslim as well as Hindus and Sikhs.

Pushkar Lake - It is 10 kms from Ajmer to reach Pushkar Lake. It is a very famous lake and you can enjoy boating and many more interesting activities there.

Brahma Temple - It is situated beyond Naga Parbat and the Ana Sagar Lake.  It is close to the cherished Pushkar Lake, the temple is committed to the Hindu creator god ‘Lord Brahma’.

Ana Sagar Lake - It has been named after Anaji Chauhan. It is an artificial lake built by Anaji Chauhan, the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan.

Savitri Temple - It is dedicated to Goddess Savitri, Lord Brahma's first wife, the temple offers an aerial view of the lake, surrounding sand dunes and various other attractions.

By Air : Ajmer does not have any Airport. Nearest Domestic Airport to reach Ajmer is the Jaipur Airport, which is in Jaipur and is 130kms to Ajmer and connected with other states and cities.

By Railway : Ajmer Junction Railway Station is the nearest Station in the city. There are also Madar Junction/MDJN railway stations where multiple super fast, express and mail trains to Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Jodhpur.

By Road : Good national and state highway network links Ajmer to other parts of Rajasthan and many important destinations in India. It is connected to most important cities including Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Mt. Abu, Jaisalmer, Mumbai and Delhi.
