About Amritsar

Amritsar is home to the Harmandir Sahib referred to as the "Golden Temple" in the western media, the divine and nurturing center for the Sikh religion. Shri Durgiana Temple: The temple is also called as Shree Durgiana Tirath or Sitla Mandir, is situated outside the Lohgarh Gate in Amritsar. It is a well known archive of Hindu testaments.

The Wagah Border: The Wagah Border is the only international road border crossing between India and Pakistan and lies on the significant G.T.Road between the cities of Amritsar (India) and Lahore (Pakistan). It is popular for its daily evening retreat commemoration also known as “Lowering of the Flags”.

Sri Akal Takht Sahib: Sri Akal Takht Sahib is a famous pilgrimage for the Sikhs in Amritsar. The place forms a momentous part of the Golden Temple compound.

Ram Bagh: Ram Bagh Garden used to be the palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh for summers during his rein. The garden had been renamed by the ruler on the name of the founder of the city.

Gurudwara Baba Atal Sahib: The Gurudwara Baba Atal Sahib is one of the important tourist spots of Amritsar. It was built during 1778-1784 and describes the affluent culture and heritage of Punjab.
