Frequently Asked Questions

Moderate difficulty. The Valley of Flowers trek is 17 km return from Ghangaria (gentle gradient). Hemkund Sahib is steeper β€” 12 km return with 1,500m elevation gain. Good walking fitness is needed. No technical climbing. Ponies available for those who struggle.

Peak bloom is late July to mid-August. Early July has the first blooms, and September sees the last flowers. The valley is closed October–June due to snow. Brahmakamal (the sacred lotus) blooms August–September.
