Moderate fitness is needed. The main challenge is altitude, not trekking. You'll be driven over the passes. We include 2 acclimatisation days in Leh. AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) risk is managed with slow ascent, hydration, and a portable oxygen cylinder in the vehicle. Consult your doctor if you have heart or lung conditions.

The highway typically opens in early June and closes by mid-October (sometimes late September after early snowfall). July–August is peak season but can have landslides. June and September offer the best balance of clear roads and fewer crowds.

Yes — Royal Enfield motorcycle rentals can be arranged in Manali or Leh. You'll need a valid Indian or international driving licence, riding experience on mountain roads, and personal protective gear. We provide a backup vehicle for luggage and emergencies.
